Hello everyone,

Spring is almost here – thankfully. I have seen more snow in Scotland than almost any other year I can remember. And what a year it is turning out to be! Last year I thought the most exciting thing that could have happened to me would have been to make an album. And that still ranks as one of my best experiences ever. What I didn’t know then was where that album would take me.

I have been to Germany, France, Denmark, Spain, Italy and Monaco. And I have been to America and Japan. In each of these places I have been fortunate enough to have performed in front of some wonderful audiences in some brilliant venues. The Tivoli Gardens in Denmark was amazing and performing in New York in Rockefeller Plaza for the launch of the album was an experience I will never forget.

Most importantly, it is the people I have met along the way that have made this such a great experience. I was lucky to have enjoyed tea with two ladies in Chicago who had followed my story from the start. And the fans who presented me with the beautiful quilt in New York will never be forgotten. I gave the quilt they made for Pebbles to the lady who is taking care of her and she tells me that Pebbles sleeps on it every night at the bottom of her bed!

It is also the letters I receive from people that mean so much. I wish I could respond to every one of them but I do get so many that it is nigh on impossible. I have a huge mound of letters at home in Blackburn and there are some very special things there that have been sent to me – some of the artwork in particular is very accomplished. My mother took up art in her 70s and I know how much effort goes into your paintings and drawings. If I don’t reply to you personally please accept my sincerest thanks now for all your support and good wishes.

My travels will continue almost up until I begin making my next album. I say bring it on! I said recently in an interview that dreams do not have an expiry date – and I am thrilled to still be living mine.

Here’s wishing all your dreams come true too.

Meeting Donny Osmond!

Hello everyone,

Susan Boyle here.

I am writing this blog on the eve of my performance on the X Factor.

A few weeks ago my phone rang and it was Simon Cowell asking If I would like to be on the show, now when the big boss himself invites you don't hesitate to say yes!

The past weeks have been extremely exciting, I have visited Los Angeles for the second time, it felt more familiar this time and I was able to really get my bearings.

I had the opportunity to meet one of my idols - Donny Osmond who came to my hotel and presented me with a bunch of purple roses! He stayed for some while, we chatted and had quite a giggle singing some of his own tunes. I felt like a teenager again.

His son Don came too - he looked as handsome as his father and not unlike Alan Osmond, Donny's older brother.

I was exhausted when we arrived back in the UK but felt humbled by the experience and by meeting so many kind and generous people who stopped me in the street to give me their best wishes.

I now send my best wishes to you all.

My album, 'I Dreamed A Dream', comes out on Monday here in the UK. I only hope that I have done you all proud and that you enjoy the songs.

God bless.

Latest Update from Susan

Hello Everyone,

I would just like to say that I have had a very exciting few months and thought I would update you on some of the highlights.

I have now finished recording my album which is called 'I Dreamed A Dream', it has been such a wonderful journey. The album is, in many ways, autobiographical. Some of the songs I chose because they had been favourites that I have sung for many years, some of them are more unusual ones which have really come to mean something to me. I do hope that you enjoy it.

One of the songs, I suppose you would call it a signature tune, 'Wild Horses', has had a great reception and was first played on the radio by Terry Wogan! I have his autobiography at home and it seems very strange that he is now playing my record.

In September, I travelled to America for my first trip abroad. I had been abroad once before – to Lourdes – but it was nothing like this long trip across the Atlantic.

Everyone treated me so well that I was humbled. I met some wonderful people who were very kind and gave me words of great encouragement. Thank you especially to all of those who made the journey to the television studios to watch my performance on America’s Got Talent. Your warm applause and encouragement helped me through my nerves. Sharon Osborne was very kind and came to my dressing room to wish me luck and I was very honoured to meet David Hasslehoff and it was great to see Piersy Baby again!

I went to Disneyland and went on Splash Mountain which was fantastic! I also achieved one of my personal ambitions which was to see the stars on the pavement in Hollywood.

I returned to England tired but feeling that I had taken a big step. I am looking forward to more foreign travel and to being able to meet some of the people who have given me support both in the British Isles and abroad.

Thank you, as always, for your support and for being there for me.

God Bless.

Welcome Message from Susan

This is exciting as this is my first time on the Internet. And this is on top of what has so far been a very exciting year.

The first thing I would like to do is to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all their support, I have received so many cards and letters and mementos, I always treasure them and I am always touched. I feel very humble and hope that I can make you happy.

Many of your letters were asking after my health so I would like to assure everyone that I am happy and well and I am really enjoying my journey so far.

People have asked me whether I sometimes wished that I had not left Blackburn and had kept my life simple – and my resounding answer is a definite NO! I return to Blackburn whenever I can as I have good friends and family there and it is the backbone of my life. I also enjoy my time in London and the work I am doing there.

I say work but it never feels like work, how can having your photograph taken wearing lovely clothes possibly be work? I have to keep pinching myself. I am in the studio now working on my album, on the first day that I went into the studio I thought, “Susan, what have you got yourself into! I want my mum!”. But every day there has been a pleasure – it is so liberating to be able to sing and to be able to see some of my dreams coming true.

Everyday I say the same thing to myself, ‘Baby steps’, and that’s what I am taking. I never look too far ahead because most of the time I still don’t truly believe this is happening to me! So I will hopefully have taken a few more of my baby steps the next time I send a message, which I hope you will find interesting.

I send you all my best wishes and sincerest thanks for all your kindness and support, it has meant so much to me.
