22nd March 2010 A new message from Susan - March 2010

Last Monday 15th March was a great day. I flew to London to have a meeting with my record label, Syco.

We had lunch together first of all and then my A&R man introduced me to a songwriting team. I spent some time with them at the home of one of the writers. It was great. They were very nice people. We talked about possible song ideas for my next album. It was a very unusual thing for me to do, to be there at the start of an idea, talking about my thoughts and feelings for potential songs! It will be very interesting to see what develops. We shall see.

I am really looking forward to going back into the recording studio. It is where it all really started for me. I remember when I first went into Steve Mac’s studio and saw all his gold and platinum discs for record sales of other artists. I was both daunted and impressed! That seems like such a short time ago and now I am planning my second album.

When I first started recording in London it immediately felt like a very comfortable environment. Now I enjoy all aspects of my career. I have really enjoyed wearing the beautiful clothes, doing photo shoots. And now that I know what to expect I also enjoy the interviews and performances for TV shows. I have been to so many countries and I really get quite excited about the travel these days. I have been to France, Germany, Holland, Denmark, America, Japan…so many places. Next weekend I am going to Japan for a second time and I can’t wait. The Japanese people are so lovely and polite and kind. I am going to be performing live with an orchestra which will be fantastic!

There is also talk of going to Australia as well – at the end of April. I won’t believe it until I am on the way! I am so excited about it. A year ago I could never have dreamed that I would be travelling to other side of the globe.

In each place I have been fortunate to have met the most wonderful, kind people.  I am told there will be a large group of people travelling to Japan to watch me perform. I will see you all there!

As always, I want to thank everyone for their continued support, for the sentiments you send me in letters and emails and for the lovely comments I receive from people wherever I am – whether it be in Japan or Blackburn when I am doing my shopping.

Thank you all.

Susan Boyle.

Dear Susan: I am so glad to know that you will be doing another album so soon after your first one. I know that you can’t go to all the countries that want you to visit and this way we get to hear you here in Canada too. I do hope that you record “Wings to Fly” that you did just for the Japanese people, but we got a taste of it on the internet and also your song “Fame” that you did several years ago. We liked seeing that fun side of you that we haven’t seen since the very first session of BGT. You showed us that humor that was clean and you do not mind making fun when there is an opportunity, but you haven’t shown us that side of you like the Fame song did. Why didn’t you step out sooner to show the world that you had that kind of voice sooner? Why couldn’t your mother see that in her lifetime. I kind of see that you had it in you, but you needed the courage to step out and show the world this kind of music, that you can hear every word, and understand the lyrics, which you can’t in many of the entertainment singers of today. God bless you as you continue your journey. When are they going to finish your book and when are they making that film they promised of your life and your music? Keep smiling and God bless you always. Your Canadian friend, Carol-Ann Nelson, Ontario, Canada   How did you like all the birthday greetings from your fans as I think there must of been over 30,000 sent you their wishes and blessings.

Dearest Susan,
A quick note to you, where do I begin? Just looked at some of your old videos and interviews, then onto the most recent ones. You’re soooo wonderful my dear, the breath of fresh air everyone loves so much. I was taught as a child and (it’s in my nature too, unless I’m pushed pass my limit as a human being)“If you can’t say something good, then don’t say anything at all.” So I always try to see the best there is,while listening to my deepest instincts, as I’ve said before they don’t mislead me. I have to trust them.Thank you for your understanding.I know you trust yours too.
Everyone is drawn to you because of your personality and marvellous talent,
that awesome combination! You’re able to lift people up and that’s a rare gift, So please understand why a lot of us are puzzled by your interest in performing with those whose style/mindset is so very different from your own. I know that you’re wonderfully gracious and if they express a desire to work with you, you might feel badly to refuse. Please don’t feel badly.
Their style is opposite to yours and they need to come up to your standard.
You’re not looking down on them, simply stating a fact, that you have a different viewpoint as far as entertainment is concerned. They should be able to respect yours and leave it at that. No offense meant, and none should be taken by them, since they’re doing what they want to do in their lives. You’re entitled to the same courtesy from them.
We your fans all over the world respond to you so well, because we’re tired of the foolishness heaped on us by the entertainment industry.
That’s why we’re soooo thankful for you, a truly beautiful and talented Lady(a real one) who is upright and stays wonderfully well grounded, despite your Superstardom. Is it any wonder that we love you? I think not.
We’re not telling you what to do but, just asking for your understanding of our viewpoint.
You touch our hearts so deeply, we’ve been longing for high standards in the entertainment field and you have provided it so very well. Actually
you have given us more than we hoped for, you’re irresistible, enchanting,
adorable…. Need I say more? So please bear with us, thank you….
Well my dear Susan, it was supposed to be short, smile. Believe me I tried
very hard, sorry….
I wish you a lovely and restful week’s end. I love seeing pictures of you but hope the press gives you some breathing space, I must not be selfish.
With love always, our Magnificent Susan….xxxx Sandra.
PS: Do you see how much you’re loved? My middle-aged eyes strain to read the words on the dark background,(I already wear glasses)of the posts on your site but yet I keep doing it. What did I say? You are enthralling….

Dearest Susan,
I received your postcard today and it made me more than happy - THANK YOU! And Thank You Jo for writing it!

Hearing you are about to record another record is very good news - I’m so looking forward to it! With the same kind of music as on your first it will be as large hit as it has become. Don’t mix any “Lady Gaga” into your style - you are class, she is not.

Let the beautiful flowers of spring give you joy and warm your heart. All the best for the coming year. Hope you go “Down Under” and if you do don’t forget to cuddle a koala!

Love and God Bless,
Kris

Susan, I love ya more than ever.  But I’m going to say what no one wants to come right out and say to you.  This Lady Gaga thing will hurt your fame and fans.  Especially if you want to dress up like her.  You have a magnificent voice and great talent and millions of people like myself, absolutely adore you.  but if you do this, people will wonder if you were really sincere about your career and how much you care about your fans.  Please don’t do this.

  Love ya Susan

Dearest Susan,
Thank you for giving us clarification on those stories out there. Maybe people will think twice when the press exaggerates and tell downright lies in their articles. Most of us already do that.
I see my comments are adding up again here, I’ll just say: I love you and please forgive me if they’re too much, smile.
Hope you’re having a wonderful day, actually evening, since it’s really late in Scotland now. Enjoying a peaceful time,I hope….
Really glad to hear about the autobiography, yes! I have not bought the books out there because they’re not authorized by you. I like the real thing. Happy that you cleared up the airport stories and that you’re feeling fine. Also you’re living in Blackburn!! Love it!!
Please tell your neighbours how much we your fans, appreciate their patience, it must be so hard on them at times. They’ve had you (a wonderful treasure)to themselves for soooo long, ‘thanks’ to them for their willingness to share you now, with the rest of the world.
You are taking the press in stride too, good for you. Hadn’t heard about the plastic surgery bit but I guess some people don’t observe well, you’re natural and we love that about you.Our Beautiful Susan….
Good to know that your PA Joanne is recording everything for you, she’s on the ball.Glad the young man was caught after scaring you like that, and you’re satisfied with the security in place. As long as you’re safe.
One last thing my dear Susan: Sooooooo glad that you have not ruled out your wiggling completely. It’s one of your endearing trademarks.
I should stop now, you’ll be tired of this long post of mine.
Stay strong, our Gracious and Superb Susan….xxxx Sandra.

Hallo Susan
I am looking forward to your visit to Australia for the Logies on May 2 2010.
I love your album and listen to it often & I feel your signature song is “Who I was born to be”. The lyrics and the way you sing it are just so you. Can’t wait for your next release and keep on the wonderful journey you have begun.
Stay happy Susan,
Love from Silvia xxxx
