26th July 2010 A message from Susan

Hello all,

Thank you so much for sending in all your entries to the Susan Search on YouTube. The standard has been really high. Thank you also for the lovely messages you have included. I have really enjoyed watching them.  I have continually been overwhelmed by the number of entries – I genuinely didn’t expect there to be so many.

So this week me and my team will be going through thousands of renditions of Silent Night and although it will be very difficult to choose just one person, the winner will be announced here on my website and on YouTube on August 2nd.

Love,

Susan

Hey Susan,

Thank you for opportunity to upload my first utube video. I am working on national anthem next. Hey, would you sing with me at a sporting event sometime? I live in Nashville. I sang for sounds baseball once when micheal jordan visited us.  Any opportunity, keep open for me, Tammy Nelson.

God Speed,
Tammy

Susan, thanks to you, today is the big day for a very lucky person who will get the moment of a life time announcement. Very many are sitting around their computers waiting for that moment of a life time of their name being called the winner of your competition.

You, Miss Susan Boyle, as Mr. Simon Cowell has said, “Are one VERY special lady!”  Thank you for inspiring so many people to go out and get their dreams. smile

Lovely Susan, So kind of you to enable and empower people.  You are very special.

Since childhood, I had only ever wanted to sing as I loved how it made me feel and (non vainly) loved that people loved the sound.  It just made my truly happy.
As far back as I can remember, my cousin and I would sing and harmonize, every chance we got.
I left school at 16 with reasonable grades.  At that time, my cousins husband and his friends had a band, all men, and happened to be looking for a lead singer, that became me!  I loved this and people really enjoyed listening, however, I was, at the time, a little shy and uncompetitive.  A band called Gaberlunzie who were friends of my father talked about how I’d be very popular in Canada, they were about to tour there.  But, being in love at the time, I married my childhood sweetheart at 18 instead.  I had my beautiful daughter when I was 20 years old. During that time I developed a critical medical condition which resulted in 8 years of horrendous life-stopping pain, until at last, in 1986 surgeons discovered the problem, almost too late, and fixed it, saving my life.  I’m extremely thankful, especially for the sake of my precious daughter and mother, by the grace of God, I was spared.  Sadly, my singing career went on hold as ‘real life took over, although I have no regrets about that.
Still, all I want to do is sing.  As I am not nifty with vids and uploading and utube and the likes, I missed out on your competition Susan.  What a pity.
I still believe in myself though, and my ‘non vain’ ability to create (I have been told) a lovely and comforting melody.
I am also a creative writer and among a few other things, I currently have a ‘work in progress’ , in the shape of an inspiring novel about love for humankind and nature’s healing ability.  There are lots of laughs in there too, another one of natures healing gifts.

All the very best to the winner of the competition and may it bring them joy.

Love and happiness to you Susan x

Sincerely, I. x
